Christmas!

Hey bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! Well, it is almost Christmas and this will probably be my last blog post until January. So, before I leave you until next year I just wanted to express why the holiday season is so awesome by telling you a cool anecdote!
December is the time of year where the whole world come together, puts aside all of their differences and celebrates! There is no greater example of this than what happened between the Germans and the French during WWI. It was Christmas Eve 1914, and the World was in the midst of a War. Despite the fact that the two sides had been fighting for almost a year, the Germans and the French found a way to stop the fighting for the night and celebrate Christmas with the sworn enemy. At first, both sides started singing Christmas carols from their trenches, and eventually both armies ceased fire and exchanged gifts. They exchanged valuables such as food, water and cigarettes. Finally, they ate together and went back to their trenches.  This happened all along the Western front, and was known as The Christmas Truce.
This is a truly inspiring story that, in my opinion, sums up the meaning of Christmas. That is to set apart differences, forgive your enemies, love your relatives, and share a peaceful nights filled with joy and laughter!
It has been a great year 2010 filled with great soccer games, surprising events, joyful reunions, and incredible experiences that no one will ever forget. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Thanks for tuning in on N.A.B.B (for the last time in 2010), I’ll keep in touch!
