Pro's and Con's

Hey Bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! Blogging is a very new skill I have acquired this past year, due to my English teacher who has forced us to do this as homework. Even though everybody hates homework, blogging can be somewhat productive.  Place an emphasis on the somewhat. Anyways, blogging has various advantages and disadvantages which everybody should consider, especially my over achieving English.

The good aspects of blogging are many, yet somewhat unimportant. Blogging allows a writer to freely express his opinions to the public, in an anonymous way. He can share his ideas and get feedback from the public without the censor barrier. In addition, you’re allowed to artistically design your webpage as you wish, making this artistic side of blogging very fun. But, blogging also has negative aspects which are important to keep in consideration. Blog can put the writer’s safety in danger, especially if the author uses personal information. This is due to the fact that blogs can be completely public, and a crazy individual can eventually come across your blog and text. Also, due to the informal style of writing which is employed in a blog, instead of improving the writing of the author, it can negatively affect the grammar usage of the writer.

So, as seen, blogging has various vital pro’s and con’s which must be taken into consideration in order to correctly judge blogging as a positive or negative thing.

Good Bye

Hey bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! Studying in an international school has many advantages, such as great teachers, incredible education, and a diverse group of friends from many back grounds and nations. One learns many things in these learning institutions, and the people you meet are all unique and unforgettable. Yet, international schools have a single flaw which, although it is almost invisible during the school year, it sneaks up behind you and bites you in the back when you are having the most fun. Unfortunately, at this time of the year, some of your best friends leave to other countries to start again from scratch and, in most cases, communication is lost forever. It is sad, but it is the way the cookie crumbles for students in international schools.

Yet, one must not forget the memorable moments spent together with those who are leaving us. We have laughed together, cried together, smiled together and even been through detention together. We survived through our first year of high successfully (well, that’s kind of debatable) and managed to, through the years, become a band of brothers and sisters. I am confident that those who move on will cherish the memories here in Venezuela forever.

Dancing together, laughing together, living together, being immature together, and even crying together will be the best memories, so, for those of you who are moving, please remember us here in Venezuela, keep in touch and always know will be waiting with a warm welcome. No matter you are (Argentina, Brazil, the US), we love you and Venezuela will be your home. And that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

High School

Hey bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! If you ask anyone in my high school what is the most stressful time of the year, you would get a unanimous answer; the end of the year. There are various reasons for this incredible phenomenon. For starters, the final tests are taken at this point of the year. This world class torture consists of seating in a classroom for a total of 10 hours, either watching your grade plummet, or working your but off in order to complete the test and get a reasonable grade. If this is not bad enough, the test is worth 20% of your whole grade, making studying a vital part of this exam. As a result, one spends countless of boring hours studying to get a mediocre grade. The stress this creates if, without a doubt, one of a kind.

To top this off, the end of the means, for all students in international schools, the last few weeks with valuable friends who are moving away forever. Naturally, close friends seek to spend as much time together as humanely possible, even if it means living together for the last days! Unfortunately, these plans are usually prevented by the horrible monster known as finals. So, some people get frustrated by the fact that someone will leave forever, and instead of taking advantage of the last days with that person, they are stuck at home with their heads in books. The anxiety this creates is usually overlooked by those in the educational institutions, and can even cause a decline grades.

As see, there are many factors which are constantly tossing and turning in the wild ocean of random ideas that is the mind of a typical high school student. And, unfortunately, we have to learn how to deal with it, since the future is not looking too bright when it comes to the elimination of final exams!

Venezuela

Hey Bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! I am fortunate enough to live in one of the most beautiful nations in the world, Venezuela. This is a Caribbean country located on the northern tip of South America, and it is known for its natural diversity. From the tallest waterfall, to the biggest rodent, almost anything which can be related to nature is found here. The Andes Mountain chains starts in this nation, making it an ideal destination for hikers and mountain lovers. On the other hand, the warm Caribbean is the beautiful ocean which washes on the shore of Venezuela. As a result, the world’s most beautiful beaches are in this country as well. White sandy beaches and turquoise waters are not uncommon around this particular nation. Finally, the great Venezuelan plains are in the central area of Venezuela. Known as ‘Los Llanos,” this area is famous for its diversity in wildlife and huge floods!

The capital of Venezuela is Caracas, a busy city filled with cars and people. However, this city is also in constant contact with nature, due to the fact that is at the base of El Avila, a gorgeous mountain which overlooks the city.  Even though Caracas is not safe in some areas of the city, this town provides entertainment for the whole family.

Venezuela is recognized as one of the most beautiful and diverse countries in the world, and I can say with confidence that I am proud of being a Venezuelan.

Aruuuuuubbaaaaaa

Hey bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! About 4 weeks ago, I embarked on one of the most memorable vacations I have ever lived. The destination was Aruba, a small Dutch island just north of my home country Venezuela. This tiny, yet incredible, island has among the most beautiful beaches in the world, and the activities and events it has to offer are, without a doubt, unique. It is the perfect combination of the Caribbean life style and American touristic commodity.

If you enjoy breath-taking Caribbean beaches and lushes 5 stars hotels and resorts, then Aruba is the island for you! The beaches at this island are ranked among the most beautiful in the world. The white sand is unbelievable, and the crystal clear, turquoise colored water seems to be a picture straight out of a post card. In addition to this, all the water sports and activities the hotels have to offer add even more awe to this magnificent island. All activities, from tubing to wakeboarding, are offered on the beach, and the thrill these activities provide is something indescribable. Finally, for the privileged society of scuba divers, Aruba has wonderful dive sites and ship wrecks with more variety of fish than anywhere in the world!

In the short week I spent in Aruba, I had the time of my life. The water activities, beautiful beaches and incredible activities unite forces and create the perfection vacation spot for the whole family!

The Japanese Disaster

                Hey bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! Unfortunately, there are often chapters in the pages of history which are affected negatively by horrible disasters brought upon the brutal forces of nature. In the past 3 weeks, the nation of Japan was confronted with one of the worst disasters man has ever seen.  What makes the events in Japan even more devastating is that no one, but a triumvirate of happenings has shaken Japan to its core; a 9.0 magnitude earthquake, a terrible tsunami, and finally a nuclear disaster resembling that of Chernobyl in 1986.

                It all started midday of March 11 2011, a date all Japanese will remember for the years to come. Even though this seemed to be a typical day at work, at 2:46pm local, Japan experienced a 9.0 earthquake whose epicenter was in the ocean a couple of miles north of Japan. Although  it was the biggest Earthquake ever recorded in Japan, this event itself did not cause as many problems, due to the rigorous building codes implemented in Japan. But, since this massive earthquake had an epicenter in the ocean, the most terrifying natural disaster was created in a matter of minutes; a tsunami. This 100 foot high wave rushed towards Japan, and trashed the northern coast (especially a city called Sendai). To make matters worse, the tsunami sabotaged the systems at one of Japans main nuclear power plants, causing the worst nuclear disaster since Chernobyl in 1986.

                It is clear that this chain reaction of events would destroy the moral and structure of most of the nations around the world. Even though thousands are dead and millions are homeless, the high moral and order held by the Japanese society is truly admirable. It is our duty to help the poor Japanese, by donating to the Red Cross and other organizations with the ability to help.

The Incredible Arab Unrest

                

                Hey bloggers! This is your friendly neighborhood N.A.B.B tuning in! Currently, a set of uprisings in the Arab world have been front-page news for almost 2 months now. This incredible chain of protest started in the small country of Tunisia, were a fruit seller violently burned himself to death in order to spread awareness about the oppression in this country. This, seemingly unimportant man, ignited a revolution in Tunisia that overthrew its extremely corrupt dictator. Setting Tunisia as an example, the people of Egypt decided to overthrow their dictator, Hosni Mubarak, who had been in power for 31 years. For about 2 weeks and a half, this leader struggled to gain control of his people. However, after a series of very violent riots, this person had no other option but to leave in order to keep Egypt at peace. The third country to be influenced by the wave of protests which has struck the Arabs is Libya. Once again, the people of Libya were demanding that their president, Muammar Gadhafi (who has 41 years in power), step down and allow others to take his place. Unfortunately, what started as peaceful protest has become a civil war, thanks to the morally wrong way with which Gadhafi had been dealing with the riots.

                The sick minded dictator, Muammar Gadhafi, decided that the only way to abolish these revolts once and for all was to ask his police to go to the streets to beat up or shoot any rebel rebelling. In addition, he demanded that his fighter jets take to the sky and bombard the protest when they were taking place. For obvious reasons, neither the Libyans nor NATO has been happy with the way that Gadhafi dealt with the situation. In order to overthrow the dictator, some Libyans formed an army and set out to conquer Libya by defeating Gadhafi’s forces. On the other hand, NATO has also decided to do their part, and all the major powers have come together and bombarded Gadhafi’s military. These nations include USA, France, England and Italy.  As seen, Muammar Gadhafi chances of remaining as Libya’s leader are becoming bleaker by the minute, yet he is still holding on to power somehow. Hopefully this ordeal will be over soon, and the Libyan people will not have to suffer anymore under the hands of the murderer Gadhafi.
